Strategy for the digital single market


On 25 March 2015, the College of Commissioners discussed the strategy for the digital single market, which is due to be presented in May.

In this context, three main areas of operation were defined, where the European Commission (EC) will focus its efforts to effect real changes for consumers and businesses.

  • better access for consumers and businesses to digital goods and services;
  • shaping the environment for digital networks and services to flourish;
  • creating a European Digital Economy and Society with long-term growth potential.
