The first meeting of the Board of Regulators and Management Committee chaired by Fátima Barros was held on 26-27 February in Berne.
Standing out among the issues considered are approval of the 14th benchmark report on international roaming, the appointment of Co-Chairs for four expert working groups and particularly the discussion about the legislative process associated to the digital single market due to begin shortly. In that regard, major changes that may occur in the sector in the next five years were discussed, along with ways to deal with eventual constraints deriving from market changes. This discussion was the first of a series of three planned discussions with the European Commission (EC) concerning the digital single market.
Regarding the Independent Regulators Group (IRG), beyond administrative issues associated to the budget and accounts the participants also discussed the organisation of training workshops in 2015.
