ECC WG FM PT22 meeting - Copenhagen

Frequency Management working group (WG FM) project team 22 (PT22) on spectrum monitoring and control and enforcement met last 5-8 May at ECC headquarters in Copenhagen, where a total of 45 delegates represented 24 countries, one organisation and one observer.

Highlights of the matters considered include the following: (i) continuity of work on the future recommendation about measurement uncertainties, namely regarding their complexity, which should be completed in 2016; (ii) analysis of results from the questionnaire on the number of interference instances reported – it is still difficult to make accounting methods compatible, which hinders direct comparison between figures from different countries, though the information about detected interference cases remains relevant; (iii) continuation of efforts to draw up a report on long term evolution (LTE) coverage methods similar to the existing one for the third generation mobile communications system (UMTS) – ECC Report 103 – which will try to list the different measurement methods that enable each country’s different individual criteria to be gauged and which should also be completed in 2016; (iv) Portugal’s presentation on results of the monitoring campaign in the 5.5 MHz band, which was requested of this group and coordinated in partnership with the Dutch administration.

The next meeting will be held this coming 6-9 October at ECC headquarters in Copenhagen.
