A meeting between BEREC and the European Commission (EC) took place on 8 May in Brussels, chaired by BEREC chair Fátima Barros.
This brainstorming meeting discussed in the morning session consumer services/rights, including universal service, and in the afternoon session governance of electronic communications in the European Union (EU).
These were the last two of three discussions whose objective is preliminary preparation of the legislative process soon to begin in the scope of the Digital Single Market initiative. The meeting was attended by the heads of several national regulatory authorities (NRAs) that are BEREC members and by officials from the Directorate-General for Communication Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT), on behalf of the EC.
