The 69th meeting of the Committee on Digital Economy Policy (CDEP) was held last 24-26 June in Paris and included a joint session of the CDEP and the working party on Security and Privacy in the Digital Economy (WP SPDE) to consider the request to admit Latvia and Colombia to the OECD. The Portuguese delegation was represented by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and ANACOM.
As host country, Mexico confirmed the official dates of the next ministerial meeting, which will take place in Cancun on 22-23 June 2016, preceded by a stakeholders forum. In this regard, the delegates were asked to discuss proposals for invitations the OECD should to address to a number of bodies suggested by the delegates, as well as logistical details, communication strategy and composition of the panels, among other aspects.
Regarding the publication “Digital Economy Outlook”, plans call for it to be launched this 15 July.
The proposed revision of the security guidelines (“Digital Security Risk Management for Economic and Social Prosperity”) and respective support document was also approved by the committee.
Lastly, a number of documents were declassified in chamber and by written procedure.
The next CDEP meeting will be held in Paris, with the dates of the 70th and 71st meetings provisionally scheduled for 2-4 December 2015 and 29-31 March 2016.
