BEREC Chair Fátima Barros took part last 15 June in Brussels in a meeting with European Commission (EC) Vice President Andrus Ansip. The other participants were representatives from the offices of European Commissioners Oettinger (Digital Economy and Society) and Bie?kowska (Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs), as well as the head of the European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP).
The meeting focused on discussing aspects associated to the postal sector in the scope of the recent EC Communication on the digital single market (DSM) strategy, namely regarding cross-border parcel delivery services. The participants agreed on the usefulness of creating a BEREC/ERGP group devoted to studying that question.
