BEREC's expert working group (EWG) on Remedies, in which various regulators participate, among them ANACOM, held a meeting last 18 March in Brussels.
This group’s current work concerns an overall analysis of the possibility of a common approach with regard to different regulatory treatment of termination rates for voice calls originating outside the European Economic Area, taking into account the international legal commitments of the European Union. A document with key considerations on this subject is being prepared; its preliminary results may be presented during the second quarter of 2016. Also discussed at this meeting was the possibility of drawing up a BEREC response to the European Commission public consultation now under way, concerning revision of the recommendation on termination rates.
