Strategic plan for the spectrum under consultation

By decision of 12 May 2016, ANACOM has approved the launch of a public consultation in Portugal on the national strategic plan for the radio spectrum.

Among ANACOM's statutory responsibilities, it is charged with ensuring efficient management of the radio spectrum and promoting competition in the provision of networks and services. The principle of effective and efficient use of frequencies is fundamental when it comes to the allocation of these resources. Under this principle, frequencies which are made available must be used effectively and efficiently in accordance with the conditions set out upon their allocation.

In this respect, ANACOM intends to use this public consultation to gather the views of various market players (manufacturers, operators, private and public entities, users and others) on the national strategic plan for the radio spectrum, particularly as regards the strategic objectives outlined in the document.

Interested parties are given a period of 20 working days to respond in writing (responses in Portuguese). Comments should therefore be sent, no later than 14 June 2016, by email to pee2016@anacom.ptmailto:pee2016@anacom.pt1.

Once the consultation process has been concluded, the contributions received will be made public. Therefore, for the purposes of publication on this website, interested parties should also submit a non-confidential version of their responses excluding items considered confidential.
