The CERP working group dedicated to European coordination for Universal Postal Union (UPU) issues, WG UPU, held a meeting last 13-14 April in Ljubljana, Slovenia, chaired by Norway and attended by representatives from 13 countries, among them Portugal, and the European Postal Operators Association (PostEurop) and the UPU International Bureau.
This meeting focused only on preparations for the 26th UPU Congress (20 September to 7 October 2016 in Istanbul, Turkey), and dealt with the following issues:
- working methods and tools available on the CERP website to support preparation of the Congress, specifically concerning compilation/disclosure of information about proposals for the Congress, their evaluation and position-taking of the group members;
- presentation and discussion of proposals already put forward;
- UPU reform;
- cooperation with PostEurop to prepare for the Congress.
The next meeting will be held this coming 15-16 June in Copenhagen at the premises of the European Communications Office (a CEPT support office).
