The annual seminar on postal regulatory statistics organised by the European Commission (EC) was held last 19 April in Brussels. It began with a presentation of preliminary data gathered by the Commission on years 2013 and 2014 and was followed by presentation of the results of an EC mini-questionnaire on postal statistics, the glossary and the questionnaire on the 2016 data collection process. The Commission also reported on the regulation concerning cross-border delivery of e-commerce parcels.
The meeting also saw the presentation of work undertaken by the ERGP working group on End Users and Market Monitoring (co-chaired by ANACOM), as well as the experience of the Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications and the Universal Postal Union vis-à-vis the gathering of postal indicators.
