The implementation of the new European regulatory framework for electronic communications determines that the imposition of ex-ante regulatory obligations should be preceded by an identification and analysis of the effective competition in the relevant markets.
In view of the definition and analysis of the degree of competition in those markets, through gathering of statistical, operational and financial information, ANACOM has prepared two questionnaires, one on Leased Lines, to be filled by the public telecommunications network operators, and the second on Local Loop Unbundling and Broadband Access, to be filled both by the public telecommunications network operators and fixed telephony service providers, as well as by the Internet service providers.
The reply must be send to ANACOM until 10 December 2003 both by e-mail to the address analise.mercados@anacom.pt, and in paper version. Any doubts arising from the fulfilling of the questionnaires can be clarified through same address.
ANACOM has recently launched the second stage of the public consultation on the process of definition of the relevant markets, assessment of significant market power (SMP) and imposition of remedies to the operators of the several electronic communications markets, to which the questionnaires now released give sequence.
