The Council of the European Union has reached an informal agreement with the European Parliament on the EU-funded "WiFi4EU" mechanism to promote fast, secure and free Internet in local communities and public spaces.
The goal is to finalize technical and budgetary questions in order to accomplish WiFi4EU at the end of 2017.
The Presidency will now submit the outcome of negotiations with the European Parliament to Member States for approval.
