Coverage of fixed high-speed networks - 2nd quarter 2017

ANACOM has released a list of parishes with access and coverage of fixed high-speed networks, which are supported over optical fibre and cable television distribution networks1, updated to the end of second quarter 2017.

This information shows whether a certain parish has coverage of fixed high-speed networks and gives the level of coverage of this service at that location: less than or equal to 1%; between 1% and 25% (inclusive); between 25% and 50% (inclusive); and greater than 50%.

In preparing this list, use was made of the following data:

  • number of cabled dwellings, as on 30 June 2017 (data provided by operators2);
  • number of conventional dwellings, per parish (INE, 2011 Census);
  • information on parishes from Direção-Geral do Território (Directorate General of the Territory) - CAOP - Carta Administrativa Oficial de Portugal (Official Administrative Map of Portugal) 2014.
