4th CPG PTC meeting - September 2017

The fourth meeting of project team C (PTC) of CEPT’s CPG was held last 26-28 September in Trondheim, Norway.

The gathering was chaired by Martin Weber of Germany and attended by 35 participants representing 16 national regulatory bodies, international organisations and industry.

CPG PTC is responsible for debating and proposing to the CPG the European common proposals (ECPs) to defend at the 2019 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-19) concerning the items under its responsibility in the CEPT/CPG scope (1.8, 1.9.1, 1.9.2, 1.10 and 9.1.4) and which deal with issues involving maritime and aeronautic communications, specifically spectrum needs and regulatory provisions for introduction and use of the global aeronautical distress and safety system (GADSS) and regulatory questions for updating and modernising the global maritime distress and safety system (GMDSS).

The proposed working documents (briefs) on the various items in the PTC’s scope were updated during the meeting and approved in the project team with a view to submitting them to the CPG for consideration/approval. A first proposed ECP has already been approved in the scope of item 1.9.2 of the WRC-19 agenda.

The next CPG PTC meeting will be held on 24-26 April 2018 in Maisons-Alfort, France.
