More than 130 municipal councils take part in WiFi4EU briefing sessions


The four briefing sessions organised by ANACOM on WiFi4EU were attended by more than 130 MUNICIPAL councils. WiFi4EU is an initiative of the European Commission to finance the installation of equipment to provide free Internet access in public places.

The sessions in Guimarães, Coimbra and Évora, which took place on 1-2 February, were jointly organised with ANMP - Associação Nacional de Municípios Portugueses (National Association of Portuguese Municipalities). The Lisbon session, which took place on the afternoon of 02 February, was organised by ANACOM and was the only session open to the general public. In addition to local authorities, this session was also attended by representatives of telecommunication operators and equipment suppliers, as well as associations representing consumers, and others.

In total, about 280 people attended the sessions.
