NET.mede receives 900,453 visits in 2019


In 2019, NET.mede had a total of 900,453 visits from 440,134 users, registering an increase of 42.50% in the number of visits and 42.40% in the number of users compared to 2018.

There were 1 218,867 page views recorded, with 86,49% of total visits originating from Portugal, and each session having an average duration of 3.02 minutes.

Over the course of 2019, approximately 934 thousand simple speed tests and 12 thousand traffic-shaping tests were performed using this tool, with an increase of 34% in the number of simple speed tests. From 2018, traffic shaping tests remained unchanged.

NET.mede, created by ANACOM in 2013, is a tool that can be used to test parameters of Internet service quality (fixed and mobile) from a computer, smartphone or tablet, making it possible to measure an Internet connection’s download and upload speeds. It also makes it possible to check whether there is evidence of the operator employing Internet traffic management through the application of restrictions on traffic and contracted speeds (traffic shaping).
