Revenues of bundled services for electronic communications increased by 4.9%, where the 4/5P bundles account for 62.9%

At the end of 2019, the number of subscribers of bundled offers amounted to approximately 4.1 million, representing 186 thousand users more than in the previous year, and reflecting an increase of 4.8%. This evolution is primarily due to the increased number of users with 4P and 5P bundles. It should be noted that, despite this increase, the number of subscribers of bundles has been decelerating since 2015.

During the period under review, the revenues of bundled services reached 1.66 billion euros in 2019, corresponding to 4.9% more than in the previous year. The 4/5P offers represented 62.9% of total revenues. In 2019, the monthly revenue per subscriber stood at 34.81 euros (excluding VAT), 0.9% more than in the previous year.

The offer of quadruple/quintuple play (4/5P) bundled services of electronic communications were the most used in 2019, reaching 2.02 million subscribers (49.7% of total users), reflecting year-on-year growth of 12.5%, corresponding to 225 thousand new subscribers.

In the second place among the most used offers are triple play (3P) offers, with 1.62 million subscribers (39.8% of the total), which grew very slightly and at rates significantly below those of previous years. This evolution of the 3P offers was partly associated to the migration to bundles with a larger number of services (4/5P). The double play (2P) offers continued to decline in 2019 (-8.6%), amounting to 424 thousand subscribers.

In terms of structure of the offer, at the end of 2019, MEO was the provider with the largest share of bundled service subscribers (40.4%), followed by the NOS Group (37.1%), Vodafone (18.6%) and the NOWO/Onitelecom Group (3.8%). In relation to the previous year, Vodafone was the only one of these operators that increased its share of subscribers, by 0.8 percentage points.

In 2019, the NOS Group was the provider with the largest share of bundled service revenues (42.2%), followed by MEO (40.7%), Vodafone (14.2%) and the NOWO/Onitelecom Group (2.8%). In relation to the previous year, Vodafone and the NOS Group increased their share of revenues by 1.3 and 0.4 percentage points, respectively, in contrast to the reduction observed at MEO of 1.1 percentage points and at the NOWO/Onitelecom Group of 0.6 percentage points.
