Dialogues in the TDAG scope - March and May 2020


Three online dialogue rounds were carried out last March and May in the scope of the TDAG of the ITU, focusing on various issues, namely:

1) Reform of the World Telecommunications Development Conference (WTDC), to be implemented at the next conference, scheduled for 2021, and which include major changes regarding the preparatory process, the conference’s content and structure, the measures to boost stakeholder involvement and the inclusion of side events in the official conference programme;

2) New ITU index to replace the current ICT Development Index, based on the structure of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (UN);

3) Evaluation of proposals to reorganise the Union’s regional presence;

4) Revision of the results-based management methodology with a view to making the Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) more robust so it can face the challenges of telecommunications development in the coming decade;

5) Identification of good practices and development of innovative measures for revising and creating new partnerships for digital transformation, in order to ensure stronger commitment with significant impact by the stakeholders.
