Meeting of ECC WG NaN - May 2020


ECC WG NaN held a videoconference last 26 and 27 May attended by 52 participants representing 30 CEPT countries, one participant from the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and from the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT), Japan’s historic operator, as observers, and one participant from the European Communications Office (ECO).

WG NaN is a working group in which regulators participate. It considers issues of common interest regarding numbering and the impact of technological developments on regulation of the electronic communication sector. Its work entails the production of reports, recommendations and decisions meant to promote harmonised regulatory development of the respective matters in Europe.

The following reports were adopted at this meeting for publication, after public consultation:

  • ECC Report 311 – Sub-assignment and number hosting – Implementation models, rights of use and obligations for E.164 numbers across the electronic communications supply chain;
  • ECC Report 312 – Measuring, evaluating and presenting comparable information on Mobile Internet Access Service Quality.

Also approved for submission to public consultation was the amendment to ECC Recommendation (17)04 – Numbering for eCall.

This working group’s next meeting will take place in December 2020.
