ANACOM publishes manual on E-business


Last 30 March, ANACOM published a manual with the title E-Business in Portugal - the legal framework and the business, matching the disclosure of the same with the organization of the conference under the same theme, organized by ANACOM on that date. This edition is the reflection of the work that this Authority has been developing in the follow-up and analysis of the issues related to e-business, which now commences a new phase, aiming at contributing to the awareness and good practice of e-business in Portugal.

The manual is divided into two parts: the first part containing the economic approach, in which, after a short characterization of the theme and analysis of the evolution and current condition of e-business in Portugal and in the world, three case studies regarding the implementation of this type of business are presented, two Portuguese and one foreigner; the second part containing the legal approach, in which the main guidelines of the legal structure over which is based e-business framework in Portugal are presented and including relevant national and European legislation and reference sites on this matter.

This publication includes external contributions from the Office for Legislative Policy and Planning from the Ministry of Justice, from Professor José de Oliveira Ascensão, from Sonae Group, from Portugal Telecom Group and from Microsoft Portugal.
