JPT BWA - Dublin

Dublin hosted on 20-21 June a meeting of the JPT BWA group, which covers aspects associated to the introduction of broadband wireless access (BWA) service.

A document submitted by project team (PT) SE19, which focuses on fixed service (FS) issues, was discussed. It contained a number of questions concerning the implementation of TDD/FDD (time division duplex/frequency division duplex) and possible limits to same. To that end the European Radiocommunication Office (ERO) will send the administrations a questionnaire on changes in the bands up to present, so as to quantify the spectrum that may become available for BWA.

This group is awaiting results of the studies under way in PT SE19. Note also that a preliminary version of the report was presented, though still incomplete in some sections.
