A seminar on convergence between the electronic communications and media sectors was held last 18-19 October in Capri (Italy), with the participation of the ERG, the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA), the European Commission and the operators' and regulators' associations from both sectors.
The seminar debated and covered, among other issues, opportunities for communications industry growth in Europe and challenges facing the sector regulators in a situation of convergence. The need to increase inter-sector co-operation was weighed, specifically the need to make such meetings regular, with the scope also encompassing the competition authorities.
