Workshop on learning from large scale attacks on the Internet/ policy implications - Report, Information Society and Media Directorate-General, April 2008

On 17 January, the European Commission (EC) organised a workshop on how to learn from large scale attacks on the Internet and on their policy implications, at which there was discussion of the lessons learnt from these actions and best practices to enhance the security and stability of the global network. The meeting constitutes an opportunity to investigate the value of European Union and international cooperation as well as public private partnerships and it contributed in raising awareness on current Internet security issues. While not necessarily reflecting the position of the EC, this report reviews the sessions and sets out the principle results of the workshop.
