This report, with reference to the last three quarters of 2007, presents a range of statistical data characterising the present situation in the 25 Member States of the European Union (EU) in terms of fixed broadband penetration and the local loop offer (LLO).
Among the main results presented, highlight goes to the evolution in the number of fixed broadband connections in 25 Member States of the EU, which grew by around 10 per cent in the last half of 2007 from a total of 84 to 92 million connections. This growth corresponds, however, to a slowdown over the last quarter of 2006 and the first quarter of 2007, in which a growth rate of around 16 per cent was registered.
