ANACOM has approved a final decision on the price charged by PT Comunicações (PTC) for the television signal distribution and broadcasting service, by determination of 10 September 2008.
According to this decision PTC must lower the price of each of the individual items which form part of the television signal distribution and broadcasting service, by at least 23%, in order to guarantee that the price system of the service in question complies with the principle of cost orientation, new prices taking effect as from 1 September 2008. PTC must also submit to ANACOM a copy of the amended pricing within 10 days from the approval of this decision.
On the same occasion, ANACOM approved also the report of the prior hearing of interested parties on the corresponding draft decision, of 23 July 2008, in the scope of which comments were provided by the following entities: Sociedade Independente de Comunicação (SIC), Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP) and PT Comunicações. An opinion was also received from the Gabinete para os Meios de Comunicação Social.
