The General Assembly of the Independent Regulators Group (IRG) was held last 9-10 October in Dublin, and included presentation of new versions of the high level papers (HLPs) on revision of the regulatory framework and the common declaration on handling the subject of independence of the national regulatory authorities (NRAs) in the new institutional framework.
The following documents were also presented at this General Assembly: proposed procedural rules for electronic voting based on debate at the last meeting of the Contact Network; report on the future secretariat to begin operating on 1 January 2009 (including description of duties, profile and benefits); results of the Bill and Keep questionnaire; and report on activities of the IRG.eu website and proposed editorial policy.
Information was also provided about preparation of the response to the recommendation on next generation access (NGA) networks and activities of the Article 7 Expert Groups between 2005 and 2008.
The next General Assembly will take place in Hungary this coming 4 December.
