Broadband deregulation - EC accepts Portuguese proposal

The European Commission (EC) has announced that it has given its approval to the proposal of ANACOM to deregulate parts of the broadband access wholesale market, specifically in areas with greater competition.

The EC also pointed to the need in its communication for appropriate rules to be put in place for the development of fibre access, especially in areas where there the incumbent operator faces less competition.
