The Mozambican capital Maputo served as venue last 16-20 February for the first training action of the ITU Excellence Centre in Africa, whose main theme topic was ''Regulation of Telecommunications/ICTs''. The goals of this training action were entirely fulfilled, and the overall evaluation of the event was very positive. There were about 40 trainees in all, from the Portuguese speaking African countries, East Timor and Equatorial Guinea.
ANACOM played a major role in organising this training action in co-ordination with the ITU, specifically through the participation of a number of its employees as trainers.
