The Portuguese Committee of URSI is associated this year with the organisation of the 7th Telecommunications Conference (Conftele 2009), which takes place from 3 to 5 May 2009 in Europarque in Santa Maria da Feira, with the sessions on the radio-electricity held under its aegis.
The ANACOM will also be represented on the panel on spectrum management, which will take place at 7pm on 4 May.
As part of the event, the "URSI Portugal Career Prize" will be awarded for the first time, to reward the excellence of a national scientist who has contributed to advancement in the field of radio science in Portugal in recent years. The prize will distinguish Dr. Carlos Salema.
