''The Galileo Concession'' - Call for expression of interest

On 22 February 2003, the European Commission announced the call for expression of interest  for the Galileo concession, aiming at constituting a database of parties interested  to bid in the course of this year.

The concession process, which aims to develop and explore this satellite navigation system, will be managed by the Galileo Joint Undertaking, which should take the adequate decision in 2003 and 2004, in order to allow for the presentation of final drafts in the summer of 2004.

All potential proponents should express their interest by 15 April 2003, by registered post to the European Commission at the following address:

European Commission
Directorate-General Energy and Transportation
Unit TREN.E.4
Office DM 28 1/32
B-1049 Brussels
Belgium

At this stage of the process, interested parties are not required to provide any further information. Those who answered to this call for expression of interest, will receive the relevant documentation concerning  the Galileo programme.
