In its 2008 session, the Council of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) decided that the ITU Operational Bulletin should be made available online, without charge, from 1 January 2010. Readers who have difficulties in accessing the document online can still purchase a paper copy.
The Operational Bulletin provides a way for administrations, operators and suppliers to share updated information, especially information on numbering plans, the allocation of new resources, introduction of new networks/operators, maritime communications and other information considered useful for telecommunication communities around the world.
Information is also provided on significant alterations to international telecommunication networks and services, to keep administrations, operators and service providers up-to-date in the fast changing telecommunication environment. It is hoped that by making the Operational Bulletin available online, its importance will increase as a tool for spreading current and accurate information.
