The European Commission has launched a public consultation on the White Paper on Modernising Standardisation in information and communication technologies (ICT) in the EU. The aim of the consultation is to gauge the degree of consensus regarding the possible review of ICT standardisation policy with the presentation of the results of the work carried out to date.
The White Paper describes some of the dramatic changes which have been seen in terms of ICT standardisation over the last ten years and invites interested parties to comment, by 15 September, on courses of action which could be followed to address these changes.
