A Internet em Portugal 2009

The aim of this publication produced by Obercom, with support from SAPO in the underlying research, is to outline the trends in Internet use in Portugal, covering the main strategies and user profiles. The analysis carried out is based on the World Internet Project (WIP) survey, which had previous editions on Portugal in 2003 and 2006.

The study is divided into four sections, with the first covering the trends seen with respect to Internet users in Portugal and the second performing an analysis of the move from usage strategies focused on the search for information to strategies focused on the performance of communication related activities. The third section looks to the social impact of the Internet and the consequent development of online socialising, while the fourth and final section addresses the impact of the Internet on the Portuguese media system.
