The European Commission (EC) has launched a public consultation (closing 01 September 2012) on the revision of the Guidelines for the application of state aid rules in relation to the rapid deployment of broadband networks. The objective of the consultation is to gather information from stakeholders (Member states, public authorities, electronic communication operators, broadband network investors) on the revised Guidelines, which lay down how the Commission will apply EU state aid rules in relation to public support granted for broadband network infrastructure deployment.
